Google is making a play for TV supremacy, through a link-up between television and the internet.

The new service will bring the web onto the small screen either through internet-enabled televisions or digital set-top boxes that route online content to existing TV sets.

Olympus shipped malware-laced cameras in Japan

Olympus has apologised after it distributed a digital camera in Japan that came with added malware on its internal memory card.

An estimated 1,700 Stylus Tough 6010 digital cameras shipped with auto-run code designed virus' to infect Windows PCs they were connected to. The malware uses a USB connection infection route that has become one of the most popular means of malware distribution recently.

Google Maps adds property search

House hunters can search for a property for sale or to rent on Google Maps, after the search giant partnered with estate agents to include their listings in search results.

Google Maps Property shows properties as circles on a map and users can click through to the estate agent for further details of houses they are interested in.

Apple sells record 600,000 iPhones


Apple sells record 600,000 iPhones

Apple has already sold more than 600,000 iPhone 4s, a record for just a single day of pre-orders, even with troubles regarding their sales sites.

That put the device on track to blast sales of its previous iPhone models and the new iPad out of the water. Apple apologised for having to halt sales temporarily after the surprising volume of online interest overloaded order and approval systems and supplies ran out.

Orange trials HD for clearer calls

Orange is trialling high definition voice technology to boost clarity between callers.

The trial has already kicked off in Bristol, Reading and Southampton, and if everything goes to plan, the HD Voice system will roll out across the UK on Orange's mobile network by the end of this summer.
