This month we
hear how McAfee are facing a lawsuit from two women in California over a
misleading third-party pop-up and how Twitter are planning on jumping onto
the bandwagon with their new advertising ideas.
Of course
Google aren't stopping; buying yet another company to add to their list,
this time from here in the UK. Frustrating news for Apple fans as the iPad
gets a one month delay for international release and lastly, smartphone
company Palm is up for grabs as they take a stroll into the market for a
buyer.
We’ll keep
doing our best to make sure we send you genuinely useful snippets and if
you have any comments or suggestions for a future article, please drop us
a line. And don't forget to tell your friends!

McAfee sued over third-party pop-up pitches

security software maker McAfee is being sued over very sneaky
advertising, causing customers to purchase a third-party service
without consent. Two
California women named Melissa Ferrington and Cheryl Schmidt, have
gone down the route of taking serous action against McAfee.
Customers
buying McAfee security software are reportedly confronted with a
pop-up with a large "Try It Now" message during the download process.
Lawyers say that users might easily think the pop-up is for McAfee's
own software but is actually for a one-click internet purchase
technology from Arpu, which costs $4.95 per month.
