The Challenge
Rhysko.com is a family run website providing online community
services aimed at bringing parents, grandparents, extended families
and professionals together to socialise.
Rhysko required a website to promote the online community forum
made accessible to the general public. This community forum would need
to provide simple contact between registered members without ever
revealing member contact details (i.e. name, email address, etc.). The
website also needed to include an eShop offering unique gifts and toys
to any website visitor.
Rhysko needed to be able to update the textual content of the
website and stock shown in the eShop themselves at any time without
relying upon an external provider.
The Solution
Following competitive tender, we were selected to design the public
facing website, community forum and 'behind-the-scenes' Content
Management System required to power the Rhysko website.
We developed the required website focussing on cross-browser
functionality ensuring the widest audience possible. The website
layout was designed with Search Engine Optimisation and ease of use in
mind as the success of this type of website relies heavily on its
membership.
The community forum included functionality enabling the automatic
censorship of 'bad words' ensuring that the content shown on screen is
appropriate for all members. The community forum also enables
registered members to contact one another via the website ensuring
that messages are sent directly to the member's registered email
address without disclosing important and private information. By
providing online 'reply' functionality the Rhysko website is able to
guarantee the security of these personal details.
The online Content Management System has provided Rhysko with a
powerful online tool enabling quick updates to be made to the textual
content of the website without needing to involve Sixth Sense. This
Content Management System also provides all the functionality required
to process orders, payments and returns made through the Rhysko eShop
as well as showing in-depth 'real-time' statistical information.
The Result
Since its launch Rhysko has grown into a sophisticated web based
online community. The website has hundreds of registered members from around the
world each contributing content to the community forum.
The Content Management System built into the website has provided
Rhysko with a one-stop solution for updating the textual content of
the website, the stock shown in the eShop as well as providing
essential 'real-time' information about how the website is being used.
Assessment
